BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements in place to provide equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. We maintain Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel in a safe training environment on how to use their aircraft, equipment, and weapons. Job Accountabilities:
The Safety Manager will support the Head of Safety in the design, implementation, and governance of the Safety & Environmental Management System (SEMS) for safe operations. This includes:
- Management of an up-to-date Safety & Environmental Management Plan.
- Guidance to all areas of the project’s operation to ensure safety and environmental requirements are met.
- Representation of BAE Systems Saudi Arabia on all safety matters relating to project’s operations.
- Development and facilitation of the Safety and Environment Management System (SEMS).
- Production and maintenance of the Safety and Environmental Management Plan.
- Management of the Hazard Log and ensuring mitigations are implemented.
- Investigation of all accidents, incidents, and significant near misses.
- Management of the Safety Programme Plan (SPP).
- Implementation of BAE Systems Saudi Arabia Safety & Environmental policies, mandates, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Honours degree level education. Chartered Engineer status or MSc level within a safety-related discipline is preferred.
- Experience in the development and implementation of Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance, airworthiness, and aircrew training service provision.
- Experience in Hazard Management and Risk Assessment.
- Knowledge of aerospace product and support design and development activities.
- Knowledge of BAE Systems safety and environmental policies and mandates.
- Experience in conducting safety incident investigations.
