Job Title: Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Parsons Corporation in Jeddah. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collaborating with the procurement team to develop and implement strategies to accelerate delivery of materials and equipment on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the procurement team to develop and implement strategies for timely delivery of materials and equipment
  • Monitor and track purchase orders, shipments, and deliveries to identify potential delays and take proactive measures to mitigate risks
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and logistics service providers to expedite orders and resolve any issues or conflicts in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders including project managers, engineers, and site staff to provide updates on purchase status and address any concerns
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess inventory levels, monitor progress, and identify potential bottlenecks in the procurement process
  • Maintain accurate records and documents related to procurement activities including purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance evaluations
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on key metrics such as delivery timeliness, quality, and responsiveness, and provide feedback to the procurement team for continuous improvement
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings by streamlining procurement workflows and negotiating favorable terms with suppliers
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to procurement and logistics services to ensure compliance and best practices

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in procurement, expediting, or logistics roles, preferably in the construction or infrastructure sector, with at least 10 years of experience in GCC countries
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management principles, and logistics operations
  • Proficiency in using procurement software, enterprise resource planning systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and supplier facilities as needed
  • Certifications such as Certified Purchasing Manager or Certified Supply Chain Professional are a plus
